Jane grew up in Gainesville, GA.  She attended Berry College
where she received a B.A. in Psychology.  She then attended
Candler School of Theology at Emory University where she
received a Master of Divinity.  She has been a United Methodist
Pastor for 19 years.  The loves of Jane’s life are her husband, son
and daughter and the members of Powers Ferry!
Daniel Tillberry, Director of Youth Ministries

Daniel Tillberry attended Georgia Institute of Technology for 2
years on an ROTC scholarship. In addition to being our Director of
Youth Ministries, Daniel attends Kennesaw State University. He
will graduate in May 2012 with a degree in Business Management.
Daniel married his best friend, Lacey, in February, 2012.
Pat Holcomb, Bookkeeper

Pat is a native of Cobb County and a Wheeler High School graduate with two years of college at
Kennesaw State. She worked for The Coca-Cola Company in Atlanta in various positions within the
Accounting and Finance departments for 30 years. She worships at East Cobb UMC where she sings
in the Chancel Choir and is a Lay Speaker. She and her husband James have a combined family of
five children and enjoy spending time with their nine grandchildren. She enjoys bicycling and taking
Zumba dance classes at the YMCA. Pat has been our bookkeeper since Jan 2003.

Jennifer Sauerbrun, Director of Children's Ministries

Jenny is delighted to be serving at Power's Ferry as the Director of Children's
ministry. She graduated in 2011 from Candler School of Theology with a
Masters of Divinity degree and is also Certified Candidate for Ordained
Ministry in the North Georgia Conference of the UMC.  In her ministry here at
Power's Ferry, Jenny is passionate about helping each child discover that he or
she is a unique gift from God to this world. Alongside her work at PFUMC,
Jenny is also raising three little people of her own, Gabe, Ainsley, and Eli.
Nada Long, Director of Music Ministries

  Nada was born in Texas but spent most of her growing up years in Oklahoma as a United Methodist
preacher’s kid.   She has a Bachelor of Music Education degree in voice and piano from Oklahoma
City University, in addition to an associates degree in Audio-Visual Technology from Rose State
College.  Her Master’s work is in Journalism from the University of Oklahoma.
  Nada taught Junior High choirs for 7 years, and has been the choir director in many different
churches since 1977. Nada directed a community chorus, “Atlanta Sings!”, from 1988 thru 1996.
During that time period she also sang with a wedding band. She has also done some composing and
arranging, including some commercial work, and taught private voice lessons from 1978 to 2001.
  Nada is married to Zip Long.   She has 2 children, Natalie & Keith.  Natalie has a Master’s Degree in
Flute Performance is married to Brian Smith.  Natalie is also the mother of Nada’s 1st grandchild,
Lorelei.  Her 2nd grandchild, Sylvia, is due in July.  Keith is getting his Master’s Degree in Aerospace
Engineering at Georgia Tech.
Tim Nugent, PowerSurge coordinator

Tim sings and is a self-taught musician, who plays both the guitar and the drums.  He taught guitar
at Great Southern Music in Cartersville and spent 3 years playing the drums for Oak Leaf Church.  
In high school, Tim played the drums for both the adult and youth praise bands at Alpharetta 1st
United Methodist Church.  He recently married Sheena Lingerfelt Nugent and has a 20-month-old
daughter named Tegan.
In addition to serving as PowerSurge Coordinator at Powers Ferry UMC, Tim is also the Worship
Leader for Revive contemporary service at Kennesaw 1st UMC.  This service meets on Saturday
nights, so we are fortunate to have him on Sunday mornings!
Marty Miley, Administrative Assistant

Marty was born and raised in Bradenton, Florida.  She graduated from
Florida Southern College and moved to Georgia in 1974.  She taught
elementary and middle school in Cherokee County until she retired in
May, 2011.   She loves music, animals, and walking the trails of
Kennesaw Mt.   Marty feels very blessed to call Powers Ferry home!
Jim Coots, Choral Accompanist

Jim has been playing the piano for vocal choirs and soloists of all ages and abilities since
junior high school.  He has served on the music staff of several area churches, including
First Presbyterian Church in Marietta and Heritage Presbyterian Church in Acworth.
He is graduate of Sprayberry High School and the University of Georgia (both Bachelor’s
and Doctorate) and is married to Jan Nixon Coots and has 2 children, Leslie and Audrey.  
He is a Senior Assistant Attorney General for the State of Georgia.
